New house

I lamely don't have a photo for the front of the house yet and now it's too dark. So here's the inside for now. The living room and hallway had carpet which was torn out by me about 20 minutes after we got the keys. That's how much I hated it. Luckily the place has nice hardwood floors throughout the upstairs. So the plan was to refinish all of them in 3 days before thanksgiving. It was a struggle...to say the least.

I spent way too many hours on that floor sanding it down. We just had so many issues with sanders that put us behind. Plus living out in the middle of nowhere means I have to drive at least 30-90 minutes to go somewhere to get a sander. It was worth it all though. The floors look so much better. I love the darker color.

Here are some more pictures of the upstairs. It's now painted grey and all the trim is missing, but hopefully I can put the trim in by the end of the month.

The house was far from perfect, but we loved that it had potential. The basement isn't really finished. One day we hope to have 2 rooms, 1 bathroom, a storage room/laundry, and a theater room down there. One day...

Things that we've done so far

-ripped out the carpet

-refinished all the floors upstairs(except the kitchen)

-painted all the walls (except the master)

-replaced light switches

-ripped out the trim

-in the process of painting e cabinets and replacing the hardware on the kitchen cabinets

We've got a lot of work ahead of us, but we're excited to have a place of our own and to make it how we want!
